Mission accomplished for AS Roma defeating Napoli at the Olimpico Stadium. It’s a major step back for Napoli because this defeat means the mathematically qualification for Juventus as winner of the Scudetto! Yep, you are reading right. Juventus winning their 5th consecutive Scudetto because there are only 3 more games with 9 available points and the gap with Napoli are Juventus having +12 points advantage.
Roma reaching 71 points can dream with the second position as there are now only -2 points difference with Napoli having 73.
The Roman gladiators battled until finally opening the score in the 89th minute. It’s midfielder Radja Nainggolan to defeat Napoili goalkeeper Pepe Reina with a right footed shot from in the bottom right corner. The assist is by midfielder Mohamed Salah.
Sour return for Napoli forward Gonzalo Higuain who returned from suspension, yet, this time could not save Napoli. It’s a blow for Napoli who were closer to win the Scudetto and wasted the chance.
