Italy Under-21: Caldara and Mazzitelli withdraw, Mandragora is called up

Atalanta defender Mattia Caldara and Sassuolo midfielder Luca Mazzitelli left the Under-21 National Team’s squad this morning to report back to their clubs after picking up injuries. After Andrea Petagna was moved up to the senior side and Andrea Conti was ruled out, Luigi Di Biagio will now have to do without these two for the Azzurrini’s two upcoming friendlies. As a result, Juventus midfielder Rolando Mandragora has been called up.

The team are set to leave in the afternoon for Krakow where they face Poland on Thursday at 20:45 CEST. On Monday 27th March, they will play Spain at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome at 21:00.
