Italy Head Coach Gian Piero Ventura called up 26 players for the International Friendly Games with Uruguay on Wednesday 7 June 2017 in Nice at the Allianz Arena and the World Cup Qualifier against Liechtenstein on Sunday 11 June at the Friuli Stadium Udine.

As reported by the Italian Football Federation (FIGC), the Italian team called up player will gather at the Technical Center of Coverciano on Friday 2nd June, where they will train up until the morning of Tuesday 6th June, before they then depart for Nice. Following their arrival, they will then encounter Uruguay in a friendly at the Stadio Allianz Riviera the next day. On the Thursday the Italian team will return to Coverciano, before traveling to Udine on June 10th prior to their game against Liechtenstein.

For the matches against both Uruguay and Liechtenstein, coach Ventura will be without Emerson Palmieri, after the player suffered a serious injury during Roma’s match against Genoa on Sunday. Meanwhile, Riccardo Montolivo has returned to the squad, having previously been absent through injury since October 6th. Stephan El Sharaawy is also back with the Italian team after his recent appearance at the last training camp. The five players from Juventus (Buffon, Bonucci, Chiellini, Barzagli and Marchisio) will not join the squad until June 5th, as they prepare to take part in the UEFA Champions League final on June 3rd.
