Thanks for visiting my blog.  Here is the 2016 – 2017 Italian Serie A Standing / Serie A Table. The season will end on Sunday 28 May 2017.  Juventus won the 2016 Scudetto winning their 5th consecutive one.

  • Here is the current situation, up to Serie A Week 29 the sole leader of the Serie A is Juventus with 73 points and a positive goal difference of +40.   The top scorer is  Torino forward Andrea Belotti with 22 goals.

Here are the 2018 FIFA World Cup CONCACAF Qualifiers  Results on Friday 24 March 2017.   Good match for Fiorentina defender Carlos Salcedo winning with his national team Mexico against Costa Rica.  Palermo defender Giancarlo González played for Costa Rica.    The ex-Hellas Verona player Rafael Marquez was honored before the match Mexico vs Costa Rica for his 20 years playing with Mexico team, and currently Captain.   The ex-Chievo and AS Roma midfielder Michael Bradley played for United States and scored a goal against Honduras.

Italy Head Coach Gian Piero Ventura has called up 25 players for the World Cup Qualifier game Italy vs Albania on Friday 24 March and the International Friendly Netherlands vs Italy on Tuesday 28 March 2017.  There are 3 players receiving their first called ups:  SPAL goalkeeper Alex Meret, Atalanta’s Leonardo Spinazzola and Inter’s Danilo D’Ambrosio.

As reported by the Italian Football Federation (FIGC), the team will meet on Sunday 19th March at the Technical Center Coverciano.

  •  Italy vs. Albania at the Stadio Renzo Barbera (following Italy’s 1-0 win in 2014, this will be only the second encounter between the two teams), in what will be the fifth round of European qualifiers in Group G. Meanwhile, Spain (joint-leading the group with Italy on 10 points) will take on Israel, who are positioned in third place and are three points ahead of Albania.  The Azzurri have a positive record in Palermo (13 games played, 11 wins, one draw and only one defeat, which was in 1994 against Croatia).

Wake up call for Palermo on their quest for salvation to remain in the Serie A next season.   Palermo winning only 3 games this season compared to Udinese winning 10 games.    Total nightmare for Palermo despite their opening goal succumbing at the end.
