Thanks for visiting my blog.  Here is the 2016 – 2017 Italian Serie A Standing / Serie A Table. The season will end on Sunday 28 May 2017.  Juventus won the 2016 Scudetto winning their 5th consecutive one.

  • Here is the current situation, up to Serie A Week 26 the sole leader of the Serie A is Juventus with 66 points and a positive goal difference of +38.   The top scorer is  Torino forward Andrea Belotti, Juventus forward Gonzalo Higuaín and AS Roma forward Edin Dzeko with 19 goals each.

Mission accomplished for the Roman gladiators conquering the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium after defeating Inter.   Roma redeeming themselves after losing the match against Villarreal in Europa League at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium.   Roma keeping up the race for the Scudetto reaching now 59 points which is -7 points below Juventus holding the first position with 66 points.

It’s a blow for Inter on their quest to keep a spot for the Europa League next season.   Inter remaining in the 6th position with 48 points being -2 points below Lazio with 50 points in the 5th position and -3 points below Atalanta in the 4th position with 51 points.

AS Roma silencing the Meazza in the 12th minute with the opening goal.  It is midfielder Radja Nainggolan to defeat Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic with a right footed shot in the top right corner.  The assist is by forward Edin Dzeko.

Inter fans in despair after the second goal by Nainggolan following a fast break!   Yep.  Roma controlling the match with “Ninja” Nainggolan being the key player in this match to keep the momentum.   Nainggolan delivering a right footed shot to the top left corner. The assist is by Bruno Peres.

The honor goal for Inter is scored by Captain Mauro Icardi in the 81st minute.   Icardi defeating AS Roma goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny with a left footed shot to the top left corner.  The assist is by Ivan Perisic.   This is the 16th goal of the season by Icardi.

The final blow for Inter in the 84th minute when Referee Paolo Tagliavento granted a penalty to Roma.   The penalty is conceded by Inter defender Gary Medel after a foul on Roma forward Edin Dzeko inside the penalty area.   It is forward Diego Perotti to convert the penalty with a right footed shot.  It’s the 7th goal of the season by Perotti.
