Italy Head Coach Gian Piero Ventura called up 26 players for the International Friendly Games with Uruguay on Wednesday 7 June 2017 in Nice at the Allianz Arena and the World Cup Qualifier against Liechtenstein on Sunday 11 June at the Friuli Stadium Udine.

As reported by the Italian Football Federation (FIGC), the Italian team called up player will gather at the Technical Center of Coverciano on Friday 2nd June, where they will train up until the morning of Tuesday 6th June, before they then depart for Nice. Following their arrival, they will then encounter Uruguay in a friendly at the Stadio Allianz Riviera the next day. On the Thursday the Italian team will return to Coverciano, before traveling to Udine on June 10th prior to their game against Liechtenstein.

For the matches against both Uruguay and Liechtenstein, coach Ventura will be without Emerson Palmieri, after the player suffered a serious injury during Roma’s match against Genoa on Sunday. Meanwhile, Riccardo Montolivo has returned to the squad, having previously been absent through injury since October 6th. Stephan El Sharaawy is also back with the Italian team after his recent appearance at the last training camp. The five players from Juventus (Buffon, Bonucci, Chiellini, Barzagli and Marchisio) will not join the squad until June 5th, as they prepare to take part in the UEFA Champions League final on June 3rd. Their arrival will coincide some players’ departure from the camp.

Good morning, my friends!   A super sunny morning with the headlines confirming Italy defeated Uruguay in the friendly game with a 3-0.   A  headline grabbing my attention is the new contract for Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri who is expected to sign a new one for 7 millions plus 1 bonus per season for 3 years !!

Here are the front pages from the Italian newspapers La Gazzetta dello Sport, Corriere dello Sport, and Tutto Sport, Thursday 8 June 2017.

The headlines on Serie A transfer market news including the possible signing of Torino forward Andrea Bellotti to AC Milan…. though, nothing sure yet……  Apparently, the biggest signing seems to be Belotti.   Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan, not moving to Inter, it seems he will get a better contract to remain with Roma.

Good morning, my friends! Well, it’s not really a good morning for Italian football fans. I am so sad checking up the Italian newspapers reminding us that Juventus lost the Champions League Final against Real Madrid. It’s so painful to see the headlines, the photos…. Nevertheless, a bit of joy because the Ex-Juventus player Zinedine Zidane now coaching Real Madrid is enjoying his victory with his team. I do like the mutual respect shown between Buffon and Zidane.

Here are the front pages from the Italian newspapers La Gazzetta dello Sport, Corriere dello Sport, and Tutto Sport, Sunday 4 June 2017.

Simply put, like it or not, Real Madrid won convincingly under the leadership of the great Cristiano Ronaldo not missing the big appointment while our Higuain and Dybala not appearing…..

Here are the front pages from the Italian newspapers La Gazzetta dello Sport, Corriere dello Sport, and Tutto Sport, Wednesday 31 May 2017.

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane considers Argentinean forward Paulo Dybala the number one danger, more than Gonzalo Higuain.   Your take?
