Supports Serie A Teams in International Competition

The International Champions Cup is just around the corner and we have two thriller games involving our Serie A teams.  There is Real Madrid, now coached by the ex AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti,  playing against Inter Milan on Saturday 26 July at the Memorial Stadium in Berkeley, California and  Real Madrid against AS Roma on Tuesday 29 July at the Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas, Texas.

Obviously, I had to ask Ancelotti during the press conference on Thursday 24 July how he feels about playing with Milan’s city rival team Inter and AS Roma in the United States.    Ancelotti having the advantage of knowing these two teams well and Italian football.  Inter coached by Walter Mazzarri and AS Roma coached by Rudi Garcia.

Let’s not forget that Ancelotti played for AS Roma from 1979 to 1987 making 171 appearances and scoring 12 goals.   Moreover, Ancelotti is highly admired by AC Milan fans not only because he played for the Rossoneri from 1987 to 1992, but because he also coached the team from 2001 to 2009.   Who could forget the glorious Ancelotti era when in 2003 AC Milan won the UEFA Champions League defeating Juventus and the 2003 Coppa Italia Final? Not me….

Ancelotti addressing the press in Spanish.

English translation…..

Ancelotti said, “These are two teams that have done a good transfer market. They have important players. In this period of the season, I think everyone is focusing on preparing well for a good season. The result is not so important. I think  Inter has changed more than Roma. Roma have signed a very good player as [Juan] Iturbe, improving the squad.   I believe these are two games that we like to play, confront, and compete to try to  win, naturally.

It is always good to know that Ancelotti still follow our Italia Serie A even from abroad.  Obviously, Ancelotti was well informed about what was going with the Serie A transfer market.
