So much expectation guys and all the fans going wild to meet the players. I had a blast and meet so many Inter fans from almost every race. Yet, I was even happier to meet one of my frequent commentators here "GREG." Hello, Greg was carrying his giant INTER flag!!! I was very happy to meet him and share this unique experience supporting our Serie A clubs in the USA.
I was in the field covering the match next to the Iranian TV Persian Broadcasting Company and Sky Italia. Wow, it was marvelous!
Guys, goalkeeper Francesco Toldo did not play because he is still under observation to make sure he can play the game against Club America on Sunday. Though, Toldo was here and acclaimed by his fans with applause.
I must tell you that Christian Chivu impressed me a lot watching him play with such determination. Chivu was among the best along Materazzi and Ibrahimovic. I was so close to the field that could see Chivu super sweating and making excellent tackles and crosses. Wow, I was like what, hum, really, awesome! Chivu seems so in shape.
Imagine the fans when Inter Coach Jose Mourinho did not include SUPER ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC in the starting line up! Wow, you could hear almost everybody asking for IBRA, IBRA, IBRA. Amazing, Ibrahimovic is like a talisman and his sole presence raise the roar among his fans. What makes it even better is to see IBRAHIMOVIC corresponding to his fans so nicely while other players have a "more divo" attitude. Hello, are you kidding me??? IBRAHIMOVIC is the opposite when it comes to deal with fans, he understands well the feeling of his fans and in every way try to satisfy each one of them with autographs, photos, shaking hands, smiling, waving. wow, just awesome! No wonder whenever he walks around the loud chant of IBRA, IBRA, IBRA, IBRA ... is the sole melodic music.
Ibrahimovic starts in the second half when Mourinho substituted Mario Balotelli suffering a contusion in his left foot, and Destro. It was the turn for Diego Milito and Zlatan Ibrahimovic turning to the 4-3-3 formation. Awesome to see MARCO MATERAZZI as captain and scoring the first goal in the 49th minute!!!! I JUMPED and yelled to my heart content "MATERAZZIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII"
Diego Milito and Thiago Motta the ex "Genoa players" made theirofficial debut with Inter. Good signs from both, though, obviously theywill need more time to be at their best. Milito was so close to scoreand a joy watching him play.
Second goal by Dejan Stankovic after an assist by AMANTINO MANCINI in the 67th minute. Stankovic heads the ball in the top corner and a party among Inter players! Oh oh, spaghetti oh... too bad that just after three minutes, UCLA Bruins equalized the score with an assist from Munoz to Griffin scoring in the 70th minute.
You bet Mourinho will want to return to the training immediately to correct some mistakes and improve the team's performance before their debut in the 2009 World Football Challenge this Sunday, July 19 against Club America.
I must say that I was expecting a victory with a wide margin. UCLA Bruins giving a tough lesson to the super stars of Inter. When I saw them entering the field, I said, "Mamma mia these are just kids!!!" They all look so young compared to the experienced Inter. Even physically, Inter were far superior. Bottom line guys, Inter needs to get back to the training immediately.
By the way, I was happy with AMANTINO MANCINI. Why? Hello, hello, MANCINI was in a rush before the game that he could not autograph the photo we took earlier and told me he will do it after the game. So, I was right there waiting for MANCINI after the game when he was about to jump in the bus and when he saw me, I guess he remembered his promise because he was not giving more autographs but came directly to sign my photo. Wow, awesome! THANKS MANCINIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIii
A standing ovation for INTER defender Nicoals Burdisso!!! Guys, after the match all players were tired and heading to the dressing room to change. Imagine that Burdisso was super tired and obviously sweating but fans keep asking him for autographs and he just dropped everything and went side by side giving autographs. Hey, you bet a big applause was heard for Burdisso with all the fans pleased for his gesture. Excellent!!!! Bravo!!!!
